That's great to hear about your brother. My brother and I have had times when we were both using and times when we're both clean. Gratefully, we are both clean today and have been for several years. I rarely lose my gratitude for this, but have to remind myself that I have no control over whether he's clean or not, but I do have control over my own choices. Congrats again.

It was really great to see him last night after he went to his first meeting. We stood in the kitchen and just talked for almost an hour and a half.

I said more to him last night than I have since August. You could already sense how relieved he already is...I was happy for him.

That's great news Erin, with my brother's recovery I feel that I have regained a long lost friend. Addictions hurt far more people than just the addict or alcoholic, but in the same manner, recovery is a blessed event for the whole family.
