Just the fact that I have been successful in my recovery has built my self confidence immensely. While many beat themselves over the fact that they are an addict or an alcoholic, I am proud of the fact that I live my life to the fullest in spite of my disease. Of course this is not the attitude of most that are new to recovery, but the longer you stay active in the recovery community and become comfortable with yopur own it is hard not to gain at least a measure of self confidence.
