I recently asked myself"am I still in recovery or am I just kidding myself". I've never been on message board or anything else on the net so I don't really know how much or little I'm suppose to say,but for you to understand my question & help me with an answere I have to give a little back ground. I am a 50 year-old woman, living in a very small town. I started using all drugs & alcohol when I was 13,that was in 1973. I partied my childhood away,by the time I was 20 I was into needles, but the only things I mainlined was, herion, morphine,& daluadid. In the short of it I've been on opiates ever since, untill I was interduced to Oxycotins. That pill & age I guess,I couldn't do it anymore. I found a methadone clinic,I didn't know much about methadone treatment, but anything had to be better than detoxing right? Well here I am 10 years later still taking methadone on a daily basis. I think I'll be on it untill I die, but thats kinda scary.I use it for pain and to keep me from using. I now go back to my question,I would like to hear what you think.Thanx!
